Hudson is a community located in Angelina County, Texas, and it is home to about 4,800 residents. This community is found next to the western border of Lufkin, which is the county seat. State Highway 94 passes through Hudson, leading about 30 miles southwest to Groveton. Hudson is a primarily residential community that grew as a suburb of Lufkin, and it is served by the local Hudson Independent School District.

There are a few notable attractions located in Hudson, Lufkin, and the rest of Angelina County. The historic Storybook Inn is located within the city limits, and there are also several unique restaurants found here, including Café San Francisco, Gourmet Potato, and Hudson Donuts. Other major destinations have Lufkin addresses, including the Ellen Trout Zoo and the Museum of East Texas.

The climate of Hudson will vary throughout the year. During the spring months, major storms tend to move into the area as the climate transitions into a hot and humid summer. Temperatures average in the 90s but can easily climate into the 100s. In order to beat the heat, it is crucial that residents have access to a central air conditioning unit at home and avoid the dangerous conditions outdoors.

The autumn months in Hudson tend to cool off as the region prepares for a colder winter. During this time, residents will begin to switch off their air conditioners, and they should take some time to service their home heating systems for the upcoming season. While the area tends to be comfortable compared to other parts of the U.S., as average daily highs usually reach the 50s, overnight lows can reach the freezing point. When cold weather moves into the area, residents tend to be thankful to have an energy-efficient heat pump or furnace in place, especially considering these units can help to keep their winter heating costs affordable.
