About Huntington, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Huntington, Texas is a city located in Angelina County, and as of 2010 about 2,200 people called this community home. This community is named after Collis Potter Huntington, who formerly served as a prominent board member of the Southern Pacific Railroad. This city is often referred to as “Gateway to Lake Sam Rayburn” and is located 10 miles from Lufkin and 40 miles from Woodville.  The most notable resident of Huntington was journalist Jack Tinsley, whose work with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram helped the newspaper to win two Pulitzer Prizes.

While there aren’t many notable attractions located in Huntington, there are several unique businesses found here. Huntington is a great community for people looking to find a good bargain, as shops like Second Blessings Thrift Store, Ken’s Express Pawn, Southern Gun and Pawn, and Country Barn Market Trade Day are all located here. Other notable shopping destinations include Liza’s Garden, Boot’s Furniture & Appliance, and Atkins Floral. Besides chain restaurants like Sonic Drive-In, there are also several unique restaurants located here, including The Cajun Oaks and Huntington Meat Market & Deli.

The weather in Huntington is characterized by cool to mild winters and hot, muggy summers. From December through the end of February, high temperatures usually reach the mid-50s, and compared to other parts of the country, these conditions are quite pleasant. However, a reliable heat pump or furnace is still needed, especially since freezing temperatures, ice storms, and other severe weather are possibilities during the winter months.

During the springtime in Huntington, many residents take the opportunity to have their central air conditioning units serviced, as these systems will get a lot of work in during the summer. Temperatures reach the upper-90s most days, although thermostat readings of 100 or higher are also common. A properly-serviced air conditioner can help to keep residents comfortable while improving the quality of indoor air.
