About Pollok, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Pollock is a small, unincorporated community located near the Angelina River about 11 miles northwest of Lufkin. It is found within Angelina County on the St. Louis Southwestern Railway near the junction of U.S. Highway 69 and State Highway 7. The settlement was originally established in the 1880s as a sawmill center. The area is served by the Central Independent School District, and older students will complete their education at Central High.

With only a few hundred people living in Pollock, there aren’t many notable attractions. There are a few businesses located in the community, including Shirlene’s Beauty Shop, Off Road Explosions Custom Shop, and Neches River Grocery. Restaurants in the community also include Sylvia’s Restaurant, Pizza Pro, and Subway. There are also some notable attractions located in nearby Nacogdoches, including Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden, the Piney Woods Native Plant Center, and Millard’s Crossing Historic Village.

Located in East Texas, Pollock and the rest of the region are known for being one of the hottest climates in the country, especially during the summer months. Not only are temperatures high, with averages in the upper-90s or even warmer, but the area receives considerable humidity from the Gulf of Mexico. This makes it feel even hotter, and in order to stay safe and comfortable throughout the season, it is crucial that residents invest in a reliable home air conditioning system.

Winters in Pollock will give residents a much needed break from the heat, with average daily highs reaching the upper-50s. For these short months, the people who live in Pollock will need to rely on home heating systems in the form of a furnace or heat pump. Although conditions tend to be milder than other parts of the U.S., freezing weather is common, and overnight lows can make indoor conditions quite cold without these systems in place.
